The Advertising Review Board of Ontario has picked nine advertising agencies and five public relations firms for a pool that will be assigned projects by the provincial government’s various ministries and agencies.
The pool system was introduced to cut the turnaround time of the selection process and the cost of having multiple competitions.
The arb will continue to hold separate reviews for larger accounts such as Foodland Ontario, Tourism, the Ontario Lottery Corporation and the lcbo.
Each company has been signed to a two-year contract valued at a maximum of $1.5 million a year.
The winning agencies are Bowen & Binstock Advertising, Cossette Communication-Marketing, Cundari Group, Gee Jeffery & Partners Advertising, The Gingko Group, MacPhee Jesson Advertising, Padulo Integrated, Ryan Edwards Communications – all of Toronto – and Thomas Crncich & Partners of London.
Also on the shortlist were Communique, Montana Steele, Scott Thornley & Co., and Weaver Tanner Miller.
The five public relations firms chosen are The Enterprise Canada Group, Environics Communications, Goodman Communications, Howe & Company, and OEB International/Worldcom.
Manifest Communications, McManus Elliot and Temple Scott Associates were also in the running.
