Bioforce chooses Bozell

Bioforce Canada has chosen Publicite Bozell of Montreal to help it put more of a consumer focus on its herbal and homeopathic line of products.

Echinaforce, a cold symptom remedy, will be the first product to be advertised in an English- and French-language campaign that gets underway in Quebec later this month.

The campaign will include transit shelter, consumer magazine and point-of-purchase creative.

Sonia Chartier, Bioforce sales coordinator, says because of budget restrictions, the advertising will begin first in Quebec but is expected to roll out nationally next year.

The main national channel of distribution for Bioforce has been health food stores, says Chartier, but its brand is now moving into independent drug stores across the country.

Bioforce markets hundreds of natural products, including 40 phytotherapy or herbal items, plus homeopathic remedies, food supplements, foods and cosmetics.

A big focus for the company right now, says Chartier, is to get din or drug identification numbers for as many of its products as possible from the Health Protection Branch of Health Canada.

Bioforce Canada of Montreal has been in Canada for 30 years. It is a division of Bioforce AG of Switzerland, a multinational bio-pharmaceutical company.
