Haan departs FCB

David Haan left his post of president and ceo of FCB Canada at the end of October to move back to the u.s. as managing director and coo of Earle Palmer Brown, an integrated agency with annual billings of about us$400 million.

Haan is based in Philadelphia, Pa., but is also responsible for offices in Washington, d.c. and New York.

Paul Mead, former executive vice-president and coo, has taken over as FCB Canada’s president and ceo. A five-year veteran with FCB Canada, Mead previously spent 17 years at jwt in various roles including executive vice-president, coo.

Haan had been at FCB Chicago for six years, running the Coors account, when he moved to Toronto more than eight years ago.

Shortly before his move, Coors had contracted Molson Breweries to brew Coors beer in Canada and FCB Chicago pitched and won the Canadian advertising assignment.

Haan initially managed the business out of Chicago but when fcb also picked up Molson Export, it was decided the agency needed a Canadian presence.
