After entertaining a number of prospective suitors – including The Wolf Group of Toronto – Boston, Mass.-based Arnold Communications has accepted a purchase offer from Snyder Communications of Bethesda, Md.

The Wolf Group had signed a letter of intent last fall to purchase Arnold, but the discussions never went beyond that stage, according to Kelly Class of Wolf Group’s Cleveland, Ohio office.

The attempt to come to a financial agreement was hampered by the low Canadian dollar, making completion of the deal not in Wolf’s best interest, the company says.

Arnold has offices in Boston, Mass., Richmond, Va., and Washington d.c., as well as branch offices in 11 other cities including Toronto, which services the Volkswagen account.

Snyder is a sales and marketing company that provides customer care and retention, sampling, direct marketing and fulfilment services.
