Doner Canada’s plans to bolster its presence and creative reputation have been reinforced with the hiring of Brad Myers as vice-president, national creative director.
The agency has been without a creative leader since the end of last year when Dan Peppler left, prompting the agency to change its name to Doner Canada from Doner Schur Peppler.
Since that time, Doner has added staff in Toronto and Montreal and opened a full-service agency in Vancouver to service the Mazda Dealers Association out west.
Myers says the hiring will continue and he is focusing right now on the Toronto creative department.
Just prior to joining Doner, Myers closed the doors on the Toronto agency he’d been running for the past five years, BAM Creative Directions.
bam’s loss of Sunoco, its largest account, to Ranscombe & Co. earlier this year, prompted him to take another look at the business. He says he decided to wind down the firm because he wanted to be back in an agency rather than running his own business and because his father and business partner Marty Myers wanted to reduce the number of hours he was working.
Myers senior and his former creative partner Dennis Bruce are handling one previous bam client, the Custodial Division of Royal Trust.
