Energizer consolidates with Bos

Energizer Canada has consolidated its national communications business with Bos (Beauchense, Ostiguy et Simard) of Montreal, the agency which has been handling its French-language advertising for three years.

Advertising for English Canada had been with TBWA Chiat/Day of Toronto, whose parent has the account in the u.s.

Henry Neil, director of marketing for Energizer, says the company made the switch because it felt the smaller agency was better suited to its needs.

Neil says Energizer has used original creative – primarily television and out-of-home – in the Canadian market for some time because the company found it difficult to adapt campaigns created for the u.s. to the English- and French-language Canadian markets. He says he expects that practice to continue.

Energizer will be launching its new Advanced Formula battery Sept. 1 with a campaign from Bos expected in October.
