Holmes and Lee reunite

Peter Holmes and John Lee, who first worked together at the now-defunct Franklin Dallas, have reunited to become co-owners of a new Toronto agency, Holmes & Lee.

The new shop is the latest incarnation of The Holmes Partnership, the firm Holmes originally founded as Holmes Donin Alloul after the closure of Franklin Dallas in March 1994.

Lee, most recently vice-president creative development and strategy at Toronto-based Wolf Group, is president and chief operating officer of the new venture, while award-winning creative director Holmes adds the ceo designation to his title.

Lee left Franklin Dallas in 1992 to become vice-president and general manager of TAXI Advertising & Design. He moved to BCP Toronto (now Publicis-SMW) as senior vp, strategy 18 months later, and, after less than a year, took over as client services director at Chiat/Day (now TBWA Chiat/Day). He joined the Wolf Group two years ago.

Nick Matthews, previously managing director of The Holmes Partnership, becomes managing director, business solutions for the new agency.

Former president Gilbert Alloul has left the company. His departure was amicable. He is currently doing some consulting as well as talking with a few u.s. agencies about the possibility of expanding into Canada.
