Rick Kemp, creative director at Vancouver-based Bryant Fulton & Shee, is returning to Toronto to become the new senior vice-president, executive creative director of J. Walter Thompson. He assumes his new position Aug. 10.
jwt has been without a senior creative person since March, when Scott Goodson left the agency in tandem with president and ceo Ted Nation.
John Clinton, who was brought back to Toronto from JWT Chicago to once again head the agency he had helmed from 1994 to 1996, says Kemp’s appointment completes a strong management team at the Toronto agency.
Before joining bfs, Kemp was vice-president, executive art director at Toronto-based Leo Burnett where he was responsible for award-winning work for Labatt’s Kokanee brand, Yellow Pages and BC Lotteries.
Prior to Burnett, he worked at Cossette Communication-Marketing, Ogilvy & Mather, and Young & Rubicam, where he began his career. At one point, he left Leo Burnett to work for Chiat/Day, only to return seven months later.
