Padulo adds new direct, creative execs

New business and increased activity from existing clients has spurred a round of hiring at Padulo Integrated of Toronto.

Padulo ceo Rick Padulo says that since the beginning of the year, the agency has acquired business from The Bay, Saan Stores, the Ontario Ministry of Finance, and the Toronto Hydro Electric Commission, as well as more work from existing clients such as cibc and BMG Direct.

Notable among the new staffers is Guy Marini who is taking over as head of Padulo Direct, replacing Tony Blacker who left the company in August after just a few months as vp and general manager of the division.

For the past four years, Marini has headed Integrated Marketing Services at Leo Burnett in Toronto. He also spent eight years at American Express of Canada, most recently as director of electronic banking services bank development in Toronto.

The Padulo creative department has been beefed up with the addition of Mark Dwyer as vice-president, senior writer and group head. Dwyer spent almost 10 years at Vickers & Benson.

Senior copywriters Andrew Short and Robin MacKenzie have also been added to the mix.

MacKenzie has been associate creative director at Vickers & Benson and creative director at Saatchi Direct. Short comes from Young & Rubicam Calgary.

Ramal Bharma, senior art director, most recently spent five years at Wunderman Cato Johnson.

New account supervisors include Zenobia Siddiqui, Julia Collins, Geoff Hardwicke, and Ellen Zabitsky. Mary Neill and Adeline Cheng are new account managers and Linda Dargavel, an account executive.

Rosalyn Ashworth, senior broadcast buyer, worked at David Cairns & Company, Media Buying Services and McCann-Erickson (now MacLaren McCann) before signing on at Padulo.
