Cohen Group in receivership

The Cohen Group, a Toronto-based agency founded in 1980 by its president Robert Cohen, went into receivership on Oct. 22.

The business-to-business communications firm handled advertising and pr for a roster of predominately technology-industry clients.

Mike Seibel, company controller, would not discuss how the agency was being wound down or its next steps, and Cohen, its president, was not available to comment at press time.

The bankruptcy does not effect The Publishing House, a contract-publishing division founded by The Cohen Group in 1995.

The agency sold off The Publishing House in 1996 when it secured the rights to publish a Canadian version of Computer Reseller News, although Robert Cohen still owns some shares.
