Livent leaves Echo hanging

Echo Advertising & Marketing of Toronto has been left holding the bag for more than $2.5 million in media spending as an unsecured creditor of Livent. The live-theatre production company last month filed for bankruptcy protection under the Canadian Companies Creditors’ Arrangement Act. It also filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

Citing advice of legal counsel, Robin Pullen, chief financial officer at Echo, would not comment on the situation or predict what effect it will have on the agency.

Echo’s clients include the Toronto Raptors, Labatt Breweries, and the Air Canada Centre.
