Dale Morrison is New Brunswick-based McCain Foods’ new president and CEO. Formerly CEO of Campbell Soup, Morrison has more that 30 years of experience in the U.S. food industry. He takes over from Howard Mann who retired from the post. Meanwhile, Norman Purdy has been named marketing manager, responsible for retail pizza pockets and desserts.
Darryl Levy has been promoted to president, Western Region for Rogers Wireless. In his expanded role, Levy is responsible for the Toronto-based company’s sales, service and distribution in the Midwest, Alberta and British Columbia.
Barry Patterson has been appointed director of marketing and communications of Toronto-based The Canadian Film Centre. He most recently worked as senior manager, communications at the CBC.
Ian Mishkel is TVOntario’s new MD of development, marketing and communications in Toronto. He was previously VP of business development at Sheridan College.
Industry Films, of Toronto, has hired Marni Luftspring as its new head of sales and marketing. Luftspring comes from Imported Artists.
AGENCIES
Brett Channer has been appointed Toronto-based Saatchi & Saatchi Canada’s new EVP, CD. He takes over from Mariano Favetto who is transferring to the agency’s Sydney, Australia office.
DDB Canada has promoted Bill Baker to SVP and MD of its Vancouver office. Baker was previously SVP, director of the agency’s Brand Integrity Group, the agency’s newly re-branded account services division. Meanwhile in Toronto, Melanie Johnston has been appointed VP, client services director of the Brand Integrity Group. In the position Johnston will oversee most of the agency’s portfolio of domestic clients.
Ian Giles has joined Toronto-based Ariad Custom Communications as director, online marketing. Previously, he headed his own company, Intervision CRM, and held positions at N5R.com, Graffiti Direct & Interactive and Salter Street Interactive.
Creative tag team Bryan Banman and Ben Weinberg have joined Grip of Toronto as associate partners. Formerly with Toronto-based Zig, the pair has also worked at Palmer Jarvis DDB, Ogilvy & Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi.
Due North Communications has promoted Jill King to VP/MD. Meanwhile, Karen Howe, the agency’s CD, adds VP to her title. King has been with the company since it opened in 1994; Howe is entering her sixth year.
Ted Sann, vice chairman and COO at New York-based BBDO North America, is leaving the agency after 34 years. David Lubars, president of Fallon Worldwide and ECO of Fallon North America returns to BBDO to take over the post.
Monica Hofmann is Toronto-based MacLaren McCann’s new CFO. She takes over from Erwin Buck who is retiring after 14 years in the position.
