Former Astral exec Alain Bergeron has been named president of integrated Montreal ad agency BCP.
Announced to the agency this morning, Bergeron will assume his new position starting Nov. 29. Prior to signing on with BCP, Bergeron was CMO and VP corporate communications at Astral. He has also worked for Alcan, CN and Bombardier in the past.
‘Alain Bergeron brings energy, creativity and business acumen to his new duties,’ Yves Gougoux, chairman, BCP board of directors, said in a release. ‘Very sensitive to branding, he fits in wonderfully with the great BCP tradition and I am convinced he will be highly appreciated by all our clients and employees. We share the same vision for BCP’s future. Alain will be an invaluable asset in its development.’
Bergeron replaces John Parisella in the official role of president. Since Parisella’s departure last fall for a new political role as Québec’s delegate general in New York, the role of president has been filled by Gougoux.
