One day after Cossette announced its new corporate structure, the head of its digital division, Fjord Toronto, has announced his departure from the agency.
Mike Sharma, SVP and GM of Fjord Toronto, released a statement to media today indicating that he would be leaving the agency by Nov. 19. Citing the restructuring of the agency as the reason for his departure, Sharma said that he was leaving to pursue opportunities that allowed for a broader application of digital.
‘I loved my time at Cossette, but as a result of the structural changes being made I didn’t feel that the opportunity being presented to me would provide me with the right challenges,’ he said in a statement. ‘Instead of focusing on a specific area of digital, I really enjoy helping a broad range of clients navigate the diverse opportunities that digital can offer.’
Sharma has been with Cossette for about a year and a half, leading Fjord Toronto and working with other Cossette-owned agencies such as Rocket XL. Previous to joining Cossette, Sharma worked with Ogilvy and Mather, Microsoft Canada and Zig.
Yesterday, Cossette announced it was restructuring under a new holding company, Vision7 International, and would be dividing agency operations into two main entities: Cossette and Esprit de Corps International.
