Cheil Canada has brought in experienced creative Mark Francolini as the Toronto-based shop continues to grow.

Francolini assumes the role of SVP, executive creative director at the agency and will primarily focus on the Samsung account, according to a release.

“Mark is a crucial addition to the Cheil team,” Cheil Canada president Matt Cammaert said in a statement. “His experience, insight, understanding of the new world, and his innate desire to build were all aspects of a year-long conversation we have had.”

Francolini leaves Young & Rubicam, where he was brought on in June to to help with creative development of the Ford Canada account. Prior to that, he spent five years as CD at Zulu Alpha Kilo, handling top accounts including Bell Canada, Audi, Coca-Cola, Corona and Puma.

Cheil has brought him in just two weeks after it announced the hiring of Mark Ferris and Vivian Gagliano as director, retail experience and director, integrated solutions, respectively. Francolini is also the second executive-level hire at the agency in the past two months, following the addition of Lindsay Prajza as VP, director of client services. The company says it is looking to hire more top-talent creatives and senior people.
