Toronto’s Traffik has bolstered its senior ranks with a focus on strategy, experiential content and technology.

Angela Harvey has been hired as the agency’s new head of planning, leading strategy across businesses and clients and tasked with growing the department. Harvey has been a branding and strategy consultant since 2005, working with agency clients including Bensimon Byrne, Zulu Alpha Kilo and Juniper Park. Prior to going independent, Harvey had stints on the strategy and account teams at J. Walter Thompson in Toronto and TBWA.

Harvey is taking over the head of planning position from Adrianne Wotherspoon, who was promoted to general manager of Traffik earlier this year.

Kris Matheson has joined the agency as director of shopper innovation. Matheson had been with Olson Canada for over three years, joining as director of shopper and consumer experience and later becoming director of innovation and creativity. At Traffik, Matheson will be focused on bringing his experience with technology as it relates to shopper behaviour to Traffik’s programs.

Lastly, Greg Plata has been hired as director of content creation, a new position at the agency created with him in mind. Plata was most recently at WestJet, where he was team lead for sponsorship and experiential marketing. Plata was a major part of the brand’s entry into content marketing and experiential campaigns, like the award-winning “Christmas Miracle.”

Plata will report to Traffik’s recently hired ECD Chris Davies and work across clients generating content on programs led by experiential activations.
