After nearly a decade working across various roles at Interpublic Group (IPG), Andrea Cook is departing the company
Cook, an industry veteran of more than two decades, has worked with IPG for eight years, and she leaves her current role as global innovation officer for McCann and North American business leader.
Previously, Cook co-founded and drove the global growth of the agency FCB/Six, which was ranked the top Canadian agency at Cannes in 2018 and 2019, and expanded into the U.S., Brazil and Europe. In 2021, Cook created a new independent offering inside of IPG as the founding CEO of Performance Art. She moved her founding leadership team and key clients to establish that agency, before moving into a new role earlier this year.
“I’m proud to have founded and built two standout agencies from scratch – companies centred on exceptional talent, steeped in innovation, driven by vision to do what’s never been done before,” Cook said in a LinkedIn post announcing her departure.
“These companies won more than 400 global awards, including Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Grand Prix’s and the coveted D&AD Black Pencil, and forever changed the face of data and creativity in our industry.
“But my heart is also ready for what’s next,” Cook added. “To focus on the things, places, people, talent, clients and work that I’m most passionate about. Data, creativity and tech has been the bedrock of my entire career and I’m thrilled the transformative AI, customer-obsessed future is finally here.”
Prior to her work at IPG, Cook also served as SVP, managing director of Cossette and as SVP managing director for the creative agency Proximity under the BBDO Group.
Cook has not yet announced where she will work next, after leaving IPG.
