Approval pending on Molson kiss

Molson Breweries is awaiting approval for ‘Worth A Dry’, a potentially controversial Molson Dry commercial originally scheduled to run June 7.

At press time, a decision on whether the commercial would run was expected following a Liquor Licence Board of Ontario meeting June 20.

The BBDO Canada spot, which features two women kissing, was cleared by the llba at concept stage but held back in its completed form.

According to Diana Rose, manager of marketing public relations, Molson Ontario, it is the role of the beer in the commercial rather than kiss or lifestyle portrayed that is the issue in question.
