Agency News: Doner Schur Peppler split rumored

Although no one will speak about it on the record, it is understood Dan Peppler, joint owner of Toronto’s Doner Schur Peppler together with W.B. Doner of Michigan, is pulling out of the partnership

A spokesperson for W.B Doner did not deny the split but would not comment.

Peppler, dsp’s ceo, chairman and national creative director, says, ‘I can’t announce anything or comment on anything right now. Everything would be premature.

‘I know all about the rumors. But that’s all I can tell you right now.’

Peppler is said to be taking the Purolator Courier and Fuji Photo Film Canada accounts with them while Doner keeps Canadian Tire.

Canadian Tire spokesperson Jennifer Garland says the company has a long history with Doner and will stay with Doner. She says as far as Canadian Tire is concerned it’s business as usual.

The Leon’s Furniture account has already moved to Bensimon-Byrne (now Bensimon-Byrne DMB&B).

The agency is currently working on a project that will launch sometime this summer.

Bob MacNelly, Leon’s national marketing manager, says the company will continue to work with dsp for a couple of months before the bulk of the account reverts to Bensimon-Byrne.
