A Web site devoted to Canada’s advertising industry is expected to be launched this fall.
The site, tentatively called AdCan, will be bilingual.
The group of industry associations behind the project has chosen Planet Genesis, the Web site development, production and management arm of Toronto-based Genesis Media, to create and manage the site.
Sharon Zillmer, director of client services for Planet Genesis, says the site will be a gateway for the industry, a one-stop site for those who want to link up to Canadian agencies, media and associations.
Geoff Parker, research director at Telemedia Publishing and member of the board of the Canadian Advertising Research Foundation, says he hopes the site will receive the support of the entire industry.
‘We’re looking for companies to provide trade-oriented information, not consumer information, with, for example, media companies providing information about their traditional products through the Web.’
