Padulo Integrated renews acquaintance with Zellers

Padulo Integrated is back doing work for Zellers more than a year after the agency’s seven-year stint as the retail chain’s broadcast agency of record came to an end.

David Owen, Zellers vice-president of sales and advertising, confirms the Toronto-based agency has done part of Zellers’ fall tv campaign on a project basis.

Other agencies and freelancers have also worked on portions of Zellers’ back-to-school campaign and fall strategy.

Owen says Zellers terminated its exclusive relationship with Padulo in June of last year because it wanted to explore other creative options.

‘We parted under good terms, and with the idea that in the future we could still work together,’ he says.

Zellers annual ad budget is estimated at $100 million. This includes spending for print advertising and flyers, which are produced by the company’s in-house agency.

Owen says Zellers will continue to work with various outside creative groups for its tv and radio advertising.
