Proposed arts centre names Gottschalk

Agency to aid in fundraising effort for 200,000-square-foot complex

A proposed arts centre near Toronto has chosen Gottschalk + Ash International Design Consultants, also of Toronto, to design materials for a major fundraising campaign.

Warren Garrett, marketing director for the Living Arts Centre, says the Mississauga site will contract with ad agencies for development of signage, programs, promotions and advertising.

Garrett says Gottschalk + Ash may also be retained for some of those assignments.

Construction of the 200,000-square-foot centre began last month.

It is being financed by $50 million in funds from four levels of government, plus $20 million that the Living Arts Centre Foundation must raise.

The centre, which is expected to be completed by mid-1997, will house a 1,300-seat concert theatre, a recital theatre, music studios, art studios, dance studios, a production centre, an interactive discovery centre and areas for art and craft exhibitions.
