Fromowitz back in T.O. at McCann

michael Fromowitz is returning home after nine years based in Hong Kong.

Fromowitz joins McCann-Erickson Advertising in Toronto the second week of July as senior vice-president, executive creative director.

He replaces Joan McArthur, who left last November after three years in that post.

For the past three years, Fromowitz, winner of 500 national and international creative awards, has been regional creative director for Backer Spielvogel Bates responsible for agencies in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta.

Before bsb, he was with the Ball WCRS Partnership in Hong Kong for six years, first as creative director and then becoming chairman and creative director in 1986.

Before moving to Hong Kong, Fromowitz worked for 14 years in Toronto with Scali McCabe Sloves, Foote Cone Belding, MacLaren and J. Walter Thompson.

Born in Toronto, he started his career with Vickers & Benson in Montreal.
