ACA Gold recipient

Lloyd Hodgkinson was awarded the 1993 Association of Canadian Advertisers Gold Medal recently in Toronto in honor of outstanding services to advertising.

Hodgkinson, the 52nd recipient of the award, retired from a 45-year career in publishing in 1985 as vice-president consumer magazines, Maclean Hunter.

He was publisher of Chatelaine from 1959-71, launched the French-language version in 1960 and Miss Chatelaine, now Flare, in 1964.

Hodgkinson was publisher of Maclean’s from 1971-82 and worked with Jean Pare as founding publisher of L’actualite in 1976.

The ACA Gold Medal winner is chosen each year by a jury of senior advertising executives and approved by an aca screening committee. PS
