TYCO Toys Canada has named Joni Eisenberg as its vice-president of marketing, effective Oct. 13.
A Montreal native, Eisenberg began her marketing career six years ago at General Foods in Toronto.
She spent the last three years with Mattel Canada as a group product manager. She left Mattel in May.
Eisenberg joins Malton, Ont.-based Tyco at a time when it is just beginning to establish a marketing presence in Canada.
Tyco, which is said to be the world’s third-largest toy company, established its first Canadian marketing office in Jan., 1992.
Before that, Tyco products were sold in Canada through distribution agreements with licensees.
è u.s.-based Maybelline has tapped its Canadian organization for its new vice-president, international.
Effective Jan. 1, Barbara Hyder, general manager of Maybelline Yardley Canada, moves south of the border to head up Maybelline’s worldwide business.
Don Kewley, who joined Toronto-based Maybelline in April as vice-president of sales, will replace Hyder.
Kewley was previously with Mennen Canada as director of sales.
Before that, he worked as a sales consultant with Tandem International, and held sales positions with Hershey Canada and Playtex.
è Rubbermaid has picked Larry Porcellato, formerly president and general manager of Rubbermaid Canada, as marketing head of its Home Products Division in Wooster, Ohio.
Porcellato’s new title is vice-president of marketing and business development.
Porcellato joined Rubbermaid Canada in 1988. In addition to his most recent post with the Toronto-based firm, he also served as vice-president of marketing and vice-president of finance.
Carol Troyer has been named to replace Porcellato.
Troyer was formerly vice-president of customer service and logistics for Rubbermaid’s Home Products Division in Wooster.
è Black & Decker Canada has made two senior management appointments.
Michael F. Golden becomes vice-president, power tools. Golden previously held several senior sales and marketing positions with Black & Decker U.S., including director of marketing and vice-president, divisional manager, home depot.
As well, Stephen C. Kennedy has been named vice-president, security hardware and plumbing. Kennedy, who has been with Black & Decker Canada for 14 years, was previously manager, national sales, power tools.
è NHL Enterprises Canada has hired a pair of marketing executives to reinforce its merchandising division.
Barry P. Monaghan, who spent 13 years with Kinney Canada working in the Foot Locker, Raglan’s and Champs operations, becomes retail merchandising manager.
Karen Hanson, who spent the last 18 years with Sears Canada, including the last eight as a buyer, becomes licensing manager.
è Toronto-based Loblaws has transferred its senior director of marketing and communications to Eastern Canada.
Effective Nov. 1, Glenn Murphy became senior vice-president marketing and merchandisings with Atlantic Wholesalers of Sackville, n.b.
The No. 2 supermarket concern in the region, Atlantic Wholesalers owns all or most of the stores in each of five different chains: Superstores, Super Value, No Frills, Capitol, and Save-Easy.

Bonnie Brooks brings retail marketing expertise to her new post of president of Kert Advertising, Toronto.
Brooks gained experience as the head of marketing, advertising and sales promotion departments for major Canadian retailers, winning several awards for her work.
Most recently president of the Town & Country division of Dylex, Brooks also worked for the company’s Fairweather/Big Steel/Braemar division.
From 1980-90, she was executive vice-president of Holt Renfrew.
Brooks replaces Jerome Shore, who left the agency this past summer.
è Toronto’s Campaign House has boosted its creative team with the addition of Sonny Stone as creative director.
Stone, fresh from a two-year stint as writer group head at J. Walter Thompson, has spent 10 years in the business.
Before jwt, he was with McCann-Erickson Advertising, Gray O’Rourke Sussman and Publicite RegioNational in Montreal.
è Norman Sefton has moved back into the agency business after four years as a film director.
Sefton has moved to Kitchener, Ont. as senior creative director at Weaver Tanner & Miller.
He spent the past two years as a freelance director and the two years before that with The Partners’ Film Company.
Sefton was creative director and board member with Ogilvy & Mather from 1975-88. He held senior writer positions for the 12 years before that with Toronto agencies Ronalds-Reynolds, Foster Advertising, Cockfield Brown, Hayhurst Saatchi & Saatchi and Foote Cone & Belding.
è McNeillie & Company International Public Relations of Toronto has expanded services with the addition of two senior consultants to head up two new groups within the company.
David Kingsmill is responsible for food products marketing, and Jennifer Grass holds responsibility for financial services marketing.
Kingsmill has been a food service consultant in Oakville, Ont. for the past three years. He was food editor and restaurant critic for The Toronto Star for the five years before that.
Grass has run her own public relations consulting firm for the past 10 years and is a former business writer with The Financial Post, The Financial Times of Canada and The Toronto Star.

è Glenn Wert is cbc’s new manager of national television sales, Toronto.
Wert is the former regional sales manager for CBC Vancouver. In 1989, Wert left the state network and worked as a marketing and sales consultant for Network Ten in Sydney, Australia.
He began his career in tv in 1973 at The CTV Television Network, where he rose to research director.
è Luch Collin has been appointed network sports specialist at cbc tv.
Collin joined cbc in 1988 as a sales rep, later working in sales for regional network, network and CBC Newsworld.
In her new job, Collin will work selling advertising time on cbc’s sports programming.
