Golin Canada has promoted a key leader as it prepares to push for further growth.
Lindsay Peterson, who joined the agency as executive director during the launch of Golin’s Toronto office, has been tapped to fill the new managing director role, both as recognition for growing the office to 25 employees and “investment and commitment in her and the market to be even more successful,” says Gary Rudnick, Golin’s president and COO.
She officially assumed the title this month and reports to Rudnick.
When it opened in 2016, Golin’s Toronto office had a single client, Rudnick says, but Peterson has played an instrumental role in growing the agency’s client roster to include Columbia Sportswear, Ferrero, Petsmart and Staples Canada, while also helping to recruit new talent.
“While our Canadian operation is more modestly sized than some of the other offices in our network, it is among the fastest growing percentage-wise in our entire agency,” he adds. “My expectation is that we grow exponentially from here.”
Peterson says she has continued growth firmly in mind as she steps into her now role. However, that isn’t her only goal.
“We’ve been very lowkey in the market since 2016. We didn’t arrive with a big bang, we took a natural progression to build the agency,” she explains. “Our goal was to establish a national footprint, build our client roster and recruit some talented people as we grew. We’ve done that. Now we will look to do more marketing in terms of awards. That will be on our radar, being more visible in the market.”
