Tropicana lands senior marketers

Devon Gillis and Melanie Isaac Taitt are starting new roles as marketing leads, Gillis for Tropicana’s drinks business unit, Isaac Taitt for juice.

Gillis (pictured above) most recently worked as director of brand strategy and marketing content for the premium meat and seafood delivery brand, Wild Fork Canada.

The longtime Coca-Cola vet also previously worked as the CPG’s Canada lead of new revenue streams. Gillis was Coca-Cola business and marketing architect for new category expansion (Flavoured Alcoholic Beverages) into Canada, inclusive of local category analysis, identification and quantification of growth opportunities, development of FAB portfolio strategy, value chain assessments, and recommendations to optimize revenue and profitability.

Isaac Taitt, meanwhile, was most recently VP of marketing for Roots.

She led a team of over 20 people for the heritage apparel brand, overseeing brand and product marketing, social media, PR, creative, and visual merchandising, and stewarded the marketing go-to-market strategy for both the retail and e-commerce channels.

Also a Coca-Cola veteran, Isaac Taitt was most recently the beverage company’s director of franchise leadership.

Wet’n’Wild Toronto names new head of marketing

Gary Lee is Wet’n’Wild Toronto’s new director of marketing and sales. Lee most recently worked as the corporate manager for marketing and brand for Cedar Fair Entertainment, developing and implementing comprehensive brand strategies and marketing plans for national accounts including Cedar Point, Canada’s Wonderland and Kings Island.

Prior to his nearly eight-year tenure with Cedar Fair, Lee worked as brand manager, corporate for Toronto-based Blue Diamond Resorts, providing strategic brand management for more than 30 resorts in the Caribbean across multiple channels.

Collision auto body repair chain promotes marketer

Oghogho Oteju has moved into a new position as the senior marketing manager for collision repair chain Carstar Canada. She previously held the role of marketing manager for nearly three years.

In the new senior position, Oteju will provide support to more than 300 Carstar Canada locations and businesses, oversee national marketing campaigns, local initiatives, sponsorships, lead generation efforts, hiring strategies and brand awareness initiatives.

The organization recently welcomed pro sports teams, the Toronto Raptors and BC Lions as new partners.
