Carl Nanni, Kraft Canada’s EVP, marketing services, retired on June 1. Nanni is a long-time Kraft employee who joined the company in 1976 as a product assistant.
Mark Olney has been named Unilever’s VP, brand development, foods. Previously, he managed the company’s Hellmann’s mayonnaise account in the U.S.
Stuart MacDonald has been promoted to SVP, marketing, packages and Canada for Expedia. He will work out of the Bellevue, Wash. office.
Kim Ziervogel has been named the National Film Board of Canada’s marketing manager – Western Centre. In the newly created position, she will oversee the marketing and launch of documentaries produced by the NFB’s Edmonton and Winnipeg studios.
Brian Simpson has joined Travelocity.ca as GM. He will manage key Canadian and international travel industry relationships as well as marketing and public relations initiatives. Delphine Cherewick has been promoted to product marketing manager. Based at the company’s head office in Texas, she will manage merchandising and promotions in Canada.
New Balance Athletic Shoe announced the promotion of Jonathan Ram to the position of GM. He had been national sales and marketing manager for New Balance Canada since joining the company in August 2002.
McCain Foods Canada has named Jeremy King as senior product manager. In the position, King will develop and manage all of the company’s retail pizza brands. He has been with the company since 2000.
AGENCIES
Axmith McIntyre Wicht, Toronto, has named Al Scornaienchi as CEO. Previously, Scornaienchi was the agency’s director of client services. The agency’s previous CEO, Arnold Wicht, is now chairman.
DDB Canada has named Alan Russell CCO. Russell was previously VP/CD of the Vancouver head office. The agency has also promoted Andrew Simon and William Hammond to the position of co-VP/CDs of its Toronto office. And Craig Cooper, formerly VP and co-CD at Toronto’s Flavour Advertising, has joined DDB Dallas as executive CD.
Paul Kron has joined MacLaren McCann Canada as SVP, group brand director. He will lead the Rogers Communications account. Previously, he was VP, group account director at McCann-Erickson in Mexico.
MEDIA
TSN has appointed Phil King as president of the sports network. He replaces Keith Pelley who left the post in November. King, previously SVP, programming, will also oversee day-to-day operations of TSN’s sports digital series services, ESPN Classic Canada and NHL Network.
