Jeffrey Henderson has become the new president and GM of Toronto’s Eli Lilly Canada. Henderson was previously based in Indianapolis, Ind. as corporate VP and controller for Eli Lilly’s global organization.
Irene Rosenfeld, president of Kraft Foods’ North American business, has resigned after less than a year in the job. She will not be replaced. As well, Michael Polk, group VP for the North American biscuit business responsible for Oreo cookies, is leaving the company. After 16 years with Kraft, he is moving to Unilever Bestfoods North America. Replacing Polk is Daryl Brewster, who was formerly group VP of Kraft Foods North America and president of Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
AGENCIES
Catherine Frank has been promoted to the role of EVP, director of global business for the Palmer Jarvis DDB agency network. Frank joined PJ DDB in 1997, and was most recently SVP, director of client services at the agency’s Toronto office. She will be based in Toronto and will work closely with PJ’s Canadian offices, as well as the DDB Worldwide network.
Jeffrey Beck has become VP, integrated marketing for agency McDonnell Haynes in Toronto. Beck previously worked as VP, client service director at VBDI as well as VP, MD for Grey Direct.
Toronto-based digital shop Blast Radius has announced the appointment of Ian Lee as GM and VP of client development. Former GM Brett Turner has been promoted to EVP of client development.
MEDIA
In Toronto, Doug Checkeris has become president and CEO of The Media Company and David Campbell has become president and CEO of Media Buying Services.
Starcom MediaVest Group, located in Toronto, has hired of Nadia Rampersad as a direct response specialist in its Halogen division. Rampersad most recently worked for Genesis Media as well as Thane Direct.
PHD Canada (formerly HYPN), based in Toronto, has announced the appointments of Tricia Allen and Michael Bolt as account directors.
Wanda Yu has been named director of national advertising for Hollinger Canadian Newspapers G.P. Yu joins Hollinger from VanNet Newspapers where she was a national account manager. Hollinger publishes daily and weekly newspapers throughout B.C. and in Sherbrooke, Que.
ASSOCIATIONS
BCAMA, the Vancover-based BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association, has elected Janet Anderson as president for its new executive board.
In Toronto, Stephen Graham and Louis-Eric Vallée have been named co-chairs for the 2003 Canadian Advertising Success Stories (CASSIES) Awards.
