Mississauga’s Fuji Film Canada has landed at John Street in Toronto. The $3-million-plus AOR switched to the Envoy-owned shop after splitting with Ammirati Puris last month. The principals of John St. worked on the Fuji business at Ammirati prior to moving to the startup this past summer.
MegaWraps, a chain of 38 Toronto-area quick service restaurants, has placed its account with Echo Advertising + Marketing of Toronto. The business was previously handled in-house.
Astral Television has given more business to Taxi. After choosing the agency for The Movie Network and Moviepix accounts, Taxi Montreal has now been awarded the French-language counterpart, Super Ecran movie network. The business was previously with Apex Marketing in Montreal.
The Vancouver/Whistler 2010 Olympic Bid Corporation has brought Vancouver’s Lanyon Phillips Communications on board to take care of all the branding and communications it needs to win over the International Olympic Committee. The IOC makes its decision July 2003.
Markham, Ont.-based IBM Canada has named Ketchum of Toronto as its public relations AOR. Ketchum is part of the One Blue agency network set up this past September by parent company Omnicom Group to be one of IBM’s global partners.
Boston Market Canada has ordered in Bos Toronto to handle all of its marketing and advertising needs. Boston Market will be opening three of its ‘quick, casual’ restaurants in the Toronto area in fall 2002. The company is owned by Boston Market Corporation, a Colorado-based chain of more than 650 restaurants which is wholly-owned by McDonald’s Corporation.
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts has appointed Publicis Montreal as its communications agency to handle all advertising and promotions efforts for the museum. Goodhue Design, a Publicis subsidiary, will oversee all printed materials. Publicis was chosen following a review including BBDO, Groupe Everest, Publicite Martin, Lili Cote Communications and incumbent Grapheme/Cossette.
