Two Toronto-based suppliers to the Canadian marketing and advertising industry – Design Partners, a brand identity, retail and package design company, and Herzig Somerville, a provider of digital imaging prepress services – have been acquired by an American firm, Schawk Inc. of Des Plaines, Ill.

Schawk, a prepress imaging and information technology services company, is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and serves consumer products packaging, advertising and promotion markets in seven countries.
