Sid Lee has announced the opening of a New York office, to be led by Will Travis, who has also worked as CEO at Dentsu America. His title at Sid Lee will be partner and US president.

Philippe Meunier, Sid Lee co-founder and creative director will be leading the team in NYC as ECD of the new office, but not making a permanent move. Lukas Derksen, Adidas business lead and agency partner, will also be heading to the new office.

The new office currently has 15 staffers, six of which have been brought over from other Sid Lee offices in  Montreal, Toronto, Amsterdam and Paris. The new office already has four US clients and is in the midst of pitching a few more new business deals.

This is not the first time Sid Lee has opened a US office, it previously launched an outpost in Austin in 2011 when it became the agency of record for Dell. That business went to Y&R earlier this year, and that office is now closed. All US resources for Sid Lee will now be located in New York, says Yanik Deschenes, VP global communications, Sid Lee.
