Tommy Perez and Tribal DDB are parting ways just three months after the Venezuelan joined the agency as creative director.
Perez has decided to return to his home in Southern California, the agency said in a statement, adding that the split was amicable and largely based on agency fit. Perez, who was tasked with providing digital solutions for clients such as Canadian Tire, McDonald’s and General Mills, will remain employed by Tribal Toronto until early July.
“We wish Tommy the best of luck in his future endeavours,” the statement said. “The agency is presently recruiting a new CD for the Toronto office.”
Perez was picked by Tribal from a pool of about a dozen candidates from several different continents, Andrew McCartney, managing director, Tribal DDB Toronto, told strategy in April.
Before joining the team at Tribal DDB, Perez was the creative director for agency Juxt Interactive in California, leading client accounts such as Toyota, Stanley Black & Decker and Cisco.
