MSLGroup boosts social, digital and creative offering

Toronto-based marcom agency MSLGroup has brought in two new senior hires this month to its fold.

Tara Hunt joins the agency as a social digital leader. Hunt’s expertise in digital, social and content strategy, as well as influencer outreach, online advertising, email marketing and community management will help the agency boost its digital, social and content capabilities, according to a release.

Hunt was the creative director for social and digital on Liberal leader Justin Trudeau’s social media campaign during the leadership election last year, as well as the director, digital and content, at Montreal agency Tuxedo. She wrote The Whuffie Factor, looking at how the social web changes business and was named one of the most influential women in technology by Fast Company, in 2009.

Hunt’s hiring follows a similar trend in the marcom/PR space to bring in creative content strategists. Most recently, Hill+Knowlton brought in Chris Davies as its VP, national creative.

Cameron Summers also joins MSLGroup as SVP corporate and public affairs and deputy managing director of the Canadian office. The former VP at Edelman also served as the chief of staff at the Ontario government.

Both Summers and Hunt will work across MSLGroups existing clients, but will also focus on building new business based on their respective areas of expertise.
