Anomaly makes a pair of senior hires

As it continues to grow, Anomaly Toronto has appointed a new leader for its production department and created a new role aimed at attracting new talent and enriching the culture at the agency.

The agency has hired Janice Bisson as its new head of production. Bisson will be responsible for leading the production department at the agency. She’ll also help shape 7th Floor, Anomaly Toronto’s in-house production studio and maker space, which has an output that ranges from TV spots and long-form digital content to photography, 3D modeling and mobile games. Bisson joins from Juniper Park\TBWA, where she had a nine-year stint as director of production, and has also been head of production at Cossette and Leo Burnett.

Anomaly has also hired Shelley Raymond as director of talent and culture, a new role at the agency. She will be responsible for recruiting and training new and existing talent, as well as maintaining a productive culture at the agency.

“As a values-based agency, our people and our culture are the most important things we’ve got,” says Pete Breton, partner and ECD at Anomaly Toronto. “We’ve had great momentum and now that we’ve tipped over the 100-employee mark, it’s the right time to bring in someone who can lead and be accountable for making us even better at managing these things.”

Raymond had previously been with Taxi for 12 years, starting in client services before moving into brand reputation roles for the agency, most recently as brand director across all of its North American offices.

“We’ve already got really strong leadership ranks internally with lots of ‘homegrown’ talent,” says Franke Rodriguez, partner and CEO at Anomaly Toronto, referring to the promotion of two longtime staffers to managing director last month. “But as our agency continues to grow, we’re always looking to add seasoned, experienced leaders from other world-class companies as well. Both Janice and Shelley will help accelerate our ability to progress further and faster.”
