Canada’s largest bakery has a new president

Marie-Eve Royer has been appointed president of Bimbo Canada, which manufactures for brands such as Dempster’s, Vachon, Sara Lee and more.

The long-time executive has most recently held the title SVP business transformation, where she worked to align the company’s commercial sales and supply chain functions. She began her career at Maple Leaf Foods more than 20 years ago, and has since then been involved in leadership roles in commercial strategy, supply chain, marketing, sales and foodservice.

She succeeds Joseph McCarthy, who’s assumed a new role at Bimbo Bakeries USA after five years of leading Canadian operations.

North York General appoints president and CEO as expansion approaches

Seanna Millar will take over as North York General Foundation’s president and CEO, effective May 8.

Previously, Millar worked in progressively senior positions at SickKids Foundation, eventually leading her to the role of the organization’s SVP – a title she has held since 2017. Millar also served in a variety of positions with Sunnybrook Foundation.

Millar joins North York General as the organization embarks on the largest building expansion its seen since opening its doors over 50 years ago – a project that’s set to be completed by 2030.

Millar succeeds Terry Pursell, who retired in January 2023 after leading the foundation for more than 13 years.

Flair Airlines adds to executive team

Maciej Wilk has been appointed COO of discount carrier Flair Airlines.

In his new role, Wilk will lead team management for flight and airport operations, including safety and quality assurance.

Flair is currently Canada’s third largest airline, and has goals to become the nation’s most sustainable airline.
