Gut is adding two leadership roles to its Toronto office, hiring Christian Buer as ECD and Natalie Street as head of accounts.

Buer will join existing ECD Brynna Aylward to co-lead the agency’s creative department, while Street will lead the account team. Both will be based in Toronto and report to managing director and partner Ryan O’Hagan.

“I’m incredibly excited to see how much Gut Toronto has grown in such a short amount of time across the board,” says Juan Javier Peña Plaza, who is partner and North American CCO for Gut, best known in Canada for being AOR for Tim Hortons and GoodLife Fitness.

Buer most recently co-founded Toronto agency Hard Work Club and has also been a creative director at John St, Sid Lee and Cossette. He has worked with brands including DoorDash, McDonald’s, Miller Genuine Draft, Knix and Egale Canada.

Street had previously been managing director at Theo, which came after more than eight years moving up the ranks on Taxi’s account team. She has worked with brands including Canadian Tire, Boston Pizza, Rogers and Manulife.

Gut Toronto opened in 2021 with a 40-person roster to serve the Tim Hortons AOR assignment. In addition to Tims and GoodLife, the agency has also worked with K-Y Jelly, Spin Master’s Rubik’s Cube and plush toy brand Gund.
