Canadian arm of Raymond James adds senior marketer

Raymond James, the Canadian arm of North American financial services firm Raymond James Financial, has added Samantha Ouimet as its senior vice president, corporate communications and marketing. Ouimet will oversee all aspects of the firm’s corporate communications and marketing functions.

“We are excited to welcome Samantha, someone who has considerable marketing and communication experience across many industries, to our leadership group at the firm,” said Jamie Coulter, CEO of Raymond James. “She will be a great addition to Raymond James and our efforts in reaching our goal of $100 billion in assets.”

Ouimet joins the firm with more than 25 years of experience in a variety of sectors across North America, including working for Element Fleet Management and pharma firm EMD Serono.

Intuit announces promotion

Intuit is promoting Stefania Mancini to vice president product management and general manager of Consumer Group Canada.

Most recently its general manager from October 2020 to May 2023, Mancini headed the financial software brand’s marketing for Consumer Group Canada. Before joining Intuit, Mancini completed a nearly eight-year stint as vice president of marketing for Klick Health, with oversight of all brand activities including: digital, TV, OOH, guerrilla/experiential, media planning and buying.

Golf Ontario appoints new marketing head

Golf Ontario has appointed Chris Fry as the new director of marketing and communications.

Fry is founder and creative director at Albatross Images, and former associate manager of sports marketing for TaylorMade Golf.

He held an eight-year stint as managing director of corporate communications and digital media for PGA of Canada.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities promotes senior marketer

Julie Smithers is being promoted to director, marketing and communications at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ (FCM’s) Green Municipal Fund.

FCM is an advocacy group representing more than 2,000 Canadian municipalities, and Smithers will continue to lead the fund’s team to help build resilient, net-zero communities.

Before joining the organization in 2020, Smithers worked as senior lead, capital markets and media relations and senior manager, enterprise media relations for BMO Financial.

St Joseph’s Health Hamilton makes a promotion

Nicole Vaillancourt is starting a new position as senior communications and engagement officer at St. Joseph’s Health System, Hamilton. She is a former St. Joseph’s Healthcare.

Prior to joining the institution in 2021, she was director of communications at the University of Toronto’s Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy.
