For the Record: Media: Maple Leaf forever

The second busiest stretch of highway in the world is now promoting Maple Leaf Meats.

On a hill on the north side of Highway 401 in west Toronto is a 30-foot by 90-foot sign that displays the Maple Leaf logo and 600 boxwood shrubs that spell out ‘freshness guaranteed’ in nine-foot-high letters.

The busiest stretch of highway in the world is part of the Santa Monica Freeway in California.

It is estimated 300,000 people will see the Maple Leaf ad from the highway, and it is also visible to passengers flying into Toronto’s international airport.
