The Hive hires Jung Ahn and Sacha Ouimet as ECDs

The Hive is adding new senior leadership to its creative team, hiring Jung Ahn and Sacha Ouimet as co-ECDs based out of Toronto and Montreal, respectively.

Ahn joins the agency with more than 15 years of international creative experience in markets including Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Seoul. Most recently, she held the post as creative director at Dentsu, but she has also held creative roles at Cossette, John St. and Leo Burnett, and she works with We-Design on creative projects outside of advertising as well.

Ouimet, meanwhile, also brings 15 years of industry experience into the role, most recently having worked as global creative director for sports equipment brand CCM Hockey. Ouimet has deep roots agency-side as well, having held senior creative roles at McCann, KBS and Cossette. While collaborating on creative work with Anh, he will also lead The Hive in a planned expansion of its Montreal team.

The hires have been made in response to growing momentum at the Hive, which has added new clients including EQ Bank and expanded its mandate with existing clients such as OLG, Lactalis and Metro. Earlier this year, it hired Shawna Hayman as VP of client services, among a wave of other hires.

“The scope of our agency has grown immensely this year, both in terms of the number of brands we’re working with and the depth of our service offerings,” says Jared Stein, CEO of the agency. “Our ability to continue to offer world class creative and strategic thinking, rooted in culture, meant we absolutely had to build our services out in Quebec and across North America. Bringing in two talents like Jung and Sacha will only serve to enhance and expand our ability to do so.”
