Dare takes double Lotus Best of Show, Rethink wins most hardware

The West Coast crowd of agencies and advertisers gathered earlier this week at the Lotus Awards show to celebrate the best of the best in B.C. creative.

The five-person panel of national and international judges were split between two creative pieces for the Best of Show, but in the end, decided to give both the Dare-created “Hospital Ward” and “Operating Room” TV spots top nods. The ads (which also won multiple Bessies last night and a Gold at ADCC last week) were created for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and showed how little space doctors and nurses have to care for their youth patients.

Not only did the agency receive the double Best of Shows, its client the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation was also given the Advertiser of the Year title for its “Out of Space” campaign.

Below are the 40 Lotus Awards (excluding the Merit Awards) that were received by ten agencies at the Vancouver event this week.
