Publicis Groupe revenue up by 9.4% in Q4

Double-digit organic growth and record-high financials are the headlines from Publicis Groupe’s Q4 and full-year 2022 result.

The holding company that owns global agencies Leo Burnet, Saatchi & Saatchi and Starcom, reported net revenue for 2022 of €12.6 billion, up from €10.5 billion in 2021. The company also reported that fourth-quarter organic revenue grew by 9.4% compared to the same quarter a year earlier, an increase of more than 5% over the same quarter in 2019.

The company’s gains were led by its European business, where it saw year-over-year organic revenue climb by 12.3% through the full year, while North America – which represents 60% of the company’s total revenue – saw a 9.9% surge. Asia-Pacific climbed by 6.5%.

Across all markets, digital led the way, with Epsilon and Publicis Sapient reporting 12% and 19% organic growth, respectively, on the year.

“Thanks to our data and technology capabilities, which now represent a third of our revenue, we have been able to continue to capture the shift in our clients’ spend towards first party data management, commerce and business transformation,” Arthur Sadoun, chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe, said as part of today’s announcement.

Sadoun also credited the digital offering for helping the results in other business segments. Media agencies achieved double-digit organic growth, both in Q4 and for the year, with creative agencies growth in the mid-single digits.

The company is forecasting organic growth of 3 to 5% in 2023, “despite the continued macroeconomic challenges.”

“Looking at our performance over the last three years, we have emerged as a stronger Groupe. Thanks to the profound transformation we’ve been through, today, our business is firing on all cylinders,” Sadoun said. “Our revenue mix, our go-to-market and our platform organization set us apart from competition, and also make us confident for the year to come.”
