Marketers on the Move: Indigo exec joins Simon & Schuster Canada

Senior VP departs Indigo

Twenty-five year Indigo veteran Jeremy Cammy is joining Simon & Schuster Canada to lead all marketing, publicity and events for the book publisher.

As VP, executive director of live events for the book retailer, Cammy managed Indigo store rebrands, and planned the support and promotion of nationally driven marketing initiatives. He built brand awareness through sponsorships and special events. Cammy also partnered with PR to create compelling media previews and influencer events in local markets, and managed social media accounts including creating and editing content. Cammy also oversaw experiential opportunities both in-store and offsite, and created loyalty exclusives and contests.

Cammy also recently held the title of VP, executive producer, virtual/in person and hybrid events, and held a three-year stint as national marketing manager.

Groupe Bel Canada promotes a member of its shopper team

Julie Synnott is being promoted to director of shopper marketing and ecommerce at cheese CPG, Groupe Bel Canada, manufacturer of Laughing Cow, Babybel, Boursin and others.

Synnott most recently worked as senior manager of shopper marketing and e-commerce, with duties including international marketing, marketing management, product development and operations management.

Her experience in cheese marketing goes back to 2007, when she was an assistant brand manager with soft cheese Boursin, which that year, became part of the Bel family of brands.

The Boursin brand has recently positioned itself as more than a premium snack, seeking to expand beyond special, festive occasions. In 2020, Fromagerie Bel created a national campaign for its The Laughing Cow brand, launching a new brand platform focused on giving the brand a more relevant place in its consumers’ lives.

Coca-Cola promotes a member of its marketing and design team

Sandro Parisotto is starting a new position at Coca-Cola in Toronto as senior manager of design – North America: integrated experience marketing – design and production.

Parisotto began his career with the CPG in 2018 as a steward for various Coca-Cola Canada brands, creating beverage packaging products and visual merchandising solutions.

Previously, he worked a two-year stint as an account director of client services, for Pigeon Brands, guiding and mentoring an internal team of five to eight designers, production, proofreading, French translation and quality control staff to publish the retail flyer for IKEA Canada. He also worked on brands such as Dr. Oetker, Kraft-Heinz, Moen, Mercedes Benz and True North Seafood.

Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC at MLSE adds a senior brand marketer

Taylor Mansillo is starting a new position as senior brand strategy and growth marketing manager – Toronto Raptors & Toronto FC at MLSE (Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment).

Mansillo was most recently partner and director of strategy and new business for indie agency, Alia. With the creative house, she provided strategic and new business leadership and managed teams responsible for digital creative and campaign strategy, and developed strategies for companies to better engage with customers through social media, digital, onsite and video marketing.
