Humanity promotes managing director
Humanity has appointed Kayla Spina as its first managing director.
Spina, who previously held the position of AVP media and new business at Humanity, will now lead the agency’s business strategy and operations.
She previously worked at digital shop MiQ Canada, most recently serving as its group account director and senior sales manager. Her expertise includes team growth, sales, strategy and account management.
Humanity’s client roster includes the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Dairy Farmers of Manitoba and Ontario Electrical League.
Faulhaber makes senior hires
Lifestyle PR and digital marketing agency Faulhaber has made two strategic senior hires.
Ian Giles joins as chief digital marketing officer and Jennifer Paukman joins as director for digital and social.
Giles will lead omnichannel marketing and enhance digital marketing across the agency’s clients. Giles first worked with Faulhaber in 2016, when the agency launched and managed content, social and digital media work for Genesis Motors Canada. He has 25+ years of experience in digital communications, leveraging insights into consumer trends, data analytics, leading campaigns and digital initiatives for the likes of Samsung, P&G, Unilever and Toyota.
Paukman joins the agency from Intuit TurboTax Canada and, previously, PC Financial and PC Agency. Paukman will lead the agency’s social media department, overseeing paid and organic social media and content production across clients like Spin Genie and Caesarstone North America.
Recently, Michelle Jobin, on air talent and producer veteran of Bell Media, Global TV and Rogers Sports & Media, also joined Faulhaber as director, media and strategy.
A key sector of growth includes the agency’s travel roster with the additions of Discover Los Angeles and Travel Wisconsin, joining Tourism Australia and Tourism Dominican Republic.
William Thomas adds a creative director
His experience includes work for The Body Shop and Tresemme, as well as brands like Becel, Unilever, Roche and Johnson & Johnson.
Leo adds an ACD
Sasha Ortega is Leo Burnett’s newest associate creative director.
Ortega comes to the role from Taxi, where she was an ACD, serving for more than two-and-a-half years. She joined Taxi as a senior art director in 2021, working on brands such as Coca-Cola.
Ortega held a senior art director role at Sid Lee prior to Taxi, where she worked on accounts including President’s Choice, Dove and Cheekbone Beauty.
