The Macallan is launching a sophisticated pop-up experience at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler for guests to enjoy its single malt Scotch whisky.
“The Library by The Macallan” will take advantage of the warmth and elegance of the alpine property’s library – an intimate space beside the lobby that is available to the public and features an open fireplace – to offer bespoke cocktails and elevated bar snacks.
The idea was conceived when a regional market manager with Edrington, the Scottish company that owns The Macallan along with other whisky and rum brands, and a Macallan brand specialist, who has a mixology background, visited the Four Seasons and recognized its potential.
“The Four Seasons actually already has an absolutely beautiful representation and portfolio of the The Macallan whiskies and in many ways, it was serendipitous and further complemented the synergy that is already there,” says Justyna Maksymiw, brand manager with Edrington. “Everything came about very naturally.”
The pop-up will be open daily from Dec. 15 to Mar. 31 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will allow whisky connoisseurs and novices who are settling in for their après-ski conversation to enjoy the brand’s offerings.
The curated menu will feature cocktails and zero-proof options, pairing various expressions of The Macallan with elements from Whistler’s flora, including pine needle tincture and local honey.
Outside of the cocktail menu, “The Library by The Macallan” will offer a collection of more than 12 different expressions.
Strategic Objectives was recently named Edrington’s PR agency in Canada and is handling this campaign.
