Toronto’s The Mark has made an investment in its creative expertise, hiring Hayes Steinberg as its chief creative officer.
In a newly created role at the agency, Steinberg’s mandate includes elevating the impact of the agency’s creative strategy and execution as part of its long-term strategy to become a fully integrated marketing services firm specializing in content, data, CRM and marketing tech.
The Mark News was founded by Jeff Anders in 2009 as a publisher of opinion pieces by global thought leaders on various topics, such as law, public policy and news analysis. Its pieces are syndicated in newspapers in 18 countries across the globe. In 2012, it launched The Mark Content, using the expertise of its journalists, filmmakers, writers and graphic artists to create content optimized for digital platforms.
Steinberg was most recently ECD at Weber Shandwick, a role he took on in 2015 after holding creative leadership positions at Bensimon Byrne, McCann, Grip and Y&R. Over his career, he has been on teams that have made award-winning work for clients including Labatt, Canadian Tire, Unilever, General Motors and Scotiabank.
