Doug & Serge is adding digital firepower to its creative department by pairing up art director Danny Bang and copywriter Kelly Uman.
Bang joins the Toronto-based agency from BBDO, where he most recently worked on campaigns for “Get Skittles Rich,” “Doritos Inferno” and Mountain Dew’s “DewMocracy.”
Uman won a Silver Cannes Cyber Lion for her work on Carly’s Café while working at John St., as well as awards for her work on the @Random project for the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada while at Saatchi & Saatchi.
The pair will report to CD Ian Schwey, working on a number of accounts to start, says Doug Robinson, CCO.
Bang and Uman will start on Dec. 9, joining other recent hires such as designer Natasha De Melis and senior AD Aaron Doyle. Robinson says the shop, with a staff count of 47, is looking to make additional hires in both its creative and planning/digital strategy departments early next year.
The agency recently added Prostate Cancer Canada to its roster of clients, which also includes Acura, Canada Goose, Clover Leaf Seafoods and Enbridge, and Robinson says it is on a number of shortlisted RFPs.
