Ann Bouthillier appointed as the new chair of AAPQ

The Association of Quebec Advertising Agencies (AAPQ) has elected Ann Bouthillier, president and CEO of Palm+Havas, as its new chairperson.

“I am proud to take over AAPQ’s chair position and represent all of my colleagues of the communication industry,” said Bouthillier in a statement. “With all of its achievements, its level of representativeness, and its openness, I am convinced that AAPQ is the best association for any agency who wishes to advance issues of mutual interest and therefore, make a difference in the advancement of our industry.”

The AAPQ, which represents 75 member agencies in Quebec, held a general meeting on Monday. Eight of its 10 directors unanimously renewed their terms of office on the board.

Outgoing chair (and Nurun’s CEO) Jacques-Hervé Roubert said in a release that, “Deep reflection has been the topic of conversation due to global changes within the communication industry, which is becoming more open and inclusive. In this context, our challenge was to adapt to new realities and changes our industry and the economy are going through.”

The AAPQ board also announced the appointment of Dominique Villeneuve as its general manager. She has served in the role on an interim basis since January when Yanik Deschênes left to join Sid Lee in Montreal.
