IKEA has named a new agency to its Canadian roster, awarding Edelman Canada its integrated communications and PR business through an RFP process.
The partnership will see Edelman offering consumer, corporate and crisis PR support to the furnishing retailer, across not only traditional channels but also digital communications, influencer engagement, public affairs and media insight.
“Edelman Canada has a great history of delivering exceptional communications strategies for clients across multiple industries,” says Tanya Bevington, head of communications at IKEA Canada. “We’re energized by the creativity, expertise and integrated approach that they will bring to helping IKEA continue to connect with the many Canadians as we build trust through compelling stories that showcase our values and vision.”
In its new role, Edelman will work with both IKEA and its other agency partners – including creative AOR Rethink and media AOR Carat – “to help power [IKEA’s] bold vision and to emphasize the power of action to build trust and ultimately drive growth,” says Bianca Freedman, CEO of the agency in Canada.
The assignment had previously been held by Hill & Knowlton Strategies.
