RBC is extending its loyalty partnership with the grocery retailer Metro.
Under the partnership, RBC’s Avion Rewards loyalty program (pictured) and Metro’s Moi Rewards will merge later this year, which it says will offer consumers more savings opportunities on everyday purchases. Linking the programs will help expand RBC’s customer base, while driving sales and redemption at Metro Ontario and Food Basics stores, the companies say.
Metro introduced Moi in Quebec and New Brunswick last April (with plans to expand into Ontario soon) as an extension of the Metro and Moi loyalty programs. Later that year in November, the company announced that it would include a co-branded RBC Visa card.
Niranjan Vivekanandan, senior VP and head of loyalty and merchant solutions at RBC, said, “Combining the Moi Rewards program with Avion Rewards’ broad suite of benefits across key consumer spend categories will now bring grocery value and savings to consumers and families at a time when they need it the most.”
An RBC spokesperson said the brand, which recently signed a loyalty partnership with Pattison Food Group in Western Canada, is also looking to ensure that Avion members can access value in grocery stores from coast to coast.
Last March, the bank announced the partnership between Avion and Pattison’s More Rewards, one of the Western Canada’s leading loyalty programs. Upon launch, Canadians who shop at participating Pattison Food Group locations, including Save-On-Foods, have access to discounts on groceries and everyday purchases, as well as extensive benefits from both loyalty programs.
Avion program’s retail partner network includes more than 1,900 retailers. It gives Canadians the opportunity to shop, save, earn and redeem points for products, as well as receive travel discounts through the marketplace.
